Fall Elections: Vote Anderson, Knoff and Turnberg!

Another semester, another election! Elections for three SDEA Board seats are currently underway.  We are recommending Carter Anderson (Kindergarten teacher at Perkins K-8) for Area 2, Seat 4 to represent elementary schools in the San Diego, Mission Bay, and Lincoln clusters.  Carter is a long-time unionist and powerhouse of positivity.  She’s a veteran teacher who understands the issues facing educators in our district. And her daughter is a first-year teacher in SDUSD, so she also understands the struggles our newer teachers face. Carter speaks up, asks questions, and advocates for educators. We would be lucky to have her on our SDEA Board. Download the flier below, cast your vote, and spread the word!

We also interviewed Julia Knoff (Scripps HS) and Mary Turnberg (Serra HS), who are each running unopposed for Board seats in Area 4, representing the La Jolla, Madison, Mira Mesa, Serra and UC clusters. We found both of them to be strong advocates for educators, and we are glad that they will be joining our Board.

Voting closes Wednesday, Oct. 15. If you didn’t receive your email ballot, call the SDEA office to have one emailed to you. You can also physically vote at the SDEA office until 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
