Hello fellow educators! We have one final week to work on these two important propositions: 30 and 32. I know many SDEA members, including Breakfast Clubbers, have been working hard. We all have been phone banking, precinct walking, walking our school neighborhoods, talking to parents, and the list goes on. But, now it’s crunch time, and we must make our final push to help pass Prop. 30 and defeat Prop. 32.
We need to do all we can to pass Prop. 30 so our students do not lose an additional 14 days for a total of 19 days off from school. Polls show Prop. 30 dropping below 50% support, so we MUST act now.
We also know by voting no on 32, we ensure educators, nurses, and laborers in California can continue to have a voice in Sacramento. The polls are showing a good chance of us defeating Prop. 32, but we must continue the hard work on contacting as many voters as we can and spread the word.
What can you do to help pass Prop. 30 and defeat Prop. 32?
Promote a Yes on 30 and No on 32 vote by wearing a button or sticker!
Talk to everyone you know.
Post on your Facebook or any social media: Remind your friends and family to vote Yes on 30 and No on 32.
Phone bank @ SDEA from 4 to 7pm, Tuesday – Thursday (last chance this week!).
Precinct walk this Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon with the Labor Council: 3737 Camino Del Rio South, San Diego, CA 92108.
Precinct walk your school’s neighborhood. Ask your SDEA Field Organizer for help and materials.
On Nov. 5 or 6, rally in front of your school and remind voters to vote Yes on 30 and No on 32. Ask your SDEA Field Organizer for help and materials.
All these activities are always more fun with a friend! And, if we all do one or all of these things, we will be contacting thousands of people to help pass Prop. 30 and defeating Prop. 32.
We can do this!
