This fall is about democracy — participating in the democratic processes of our union, but just as importantly, participating in the democratic voting process this November to protect our schools and our union.
Come join the union members of Garfield High School as we work to pass Prop. 30 (the crucial school funding initiative that will prevent us from taking an 8% pay cut in January) and defeat Prop. 32 (a bill designed to pave the way for attacking the very existence of unions in California).
We will be phone banking a 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 4 at the SDEA office (10393 San Diego Mission Road).
On Saturday, October 13 we will be hitting the pavement to Get Out the Vote with the San Diego Labor Council from 9:00 a.m. to noon (3737 Camino del Rio South).
And on Tuesday, October 23, we will be flyering City College after school. We will be staged out of the Garfield High School parking lot (across the street from San Diego High School and City College).
Please let us know if you would like to join us with any of these actions! You can sign up here!
